I’ve released a hotfix for the map error many people are having, please download from the normal download page found here.

Sorry for the delay on this on guys.

You heard it first here folks, Pokemon Battle Arena is getting some loving attention. I will be working on PBA over the next week to complete it.

PWO will still have its updates as needed (2 are needed already) but I have a feeling that I can complete PBA pretty quick as soon as I get round to it….. So I’ve chosen to get around to it.

Also let me know if your an artist and are keen to sprite some pokemon like creatures for a Relabeled (Non Pokemon) Battle Arena.

Well we have managed to hit the current self imposed limit of the server of 150 users, we will be upgrading this limit as soon as we have added in a little extra feature for speed. (We will then also make the members only server).

So on to the Pika Farmers :)

Here you can see the wild pikachu trainer in its natural habitat. Veridian forest has been known for housing some of the most notorious Pikachu hunters on the planet. Good luck Pikachu and God Speed.

Hey PBA Guys,

Just to give you a quick update of things to come:

We are in the process or reimaging the front page to be more unique feel for our community, Please feel free to create and submit some images etc and post them on the forums for us to review. (There will be prizes for chosen artwork)

Yesterday evening I made a few changes to the Production Game

  • Encounter rate has increased by 300% for any random Pokemon
  • Quick Jump menu allows you to jump to any exit on the map (You still need to meet the requirements though)

Keep having fun guys!

All is going well, we have out new server set up as “Test Svr” and running in debug mode. we have caught a majority of the bugs and the server is now running smoothly.

Almost all features are up and running in this server (including saving) and we are only running it labeled as a test box because we like to be secure and always have a fail safe.

We will likely release the upgrade to all clients within the next 4 days. So far the Game runs perfectly without hitch or lag. Please feel free to test this for yourself, the link to the latest version is on the forum.

Ok guys, I’ve just had the word that the new C++ server is 100% to scratch, we wll be testing it Today and tommorrow and following which will release to Public.

Well, I’m very excited to say that we have so much going on. For everyone who is suffering from the immense lag we have a newly built Application server which should cope with at least five times the load of the current system (All thanks to Xanatus). This is presently in Beta and should be released within 2 weeks.

Along with this we have hit the Alpha 2 of the Java PWO client - AKA Project Storm. Which has many features of the original Client plusa little more. (Thanks to Zammbi)

We also have a few security updates and modules ready to go into the Playerdex over the next 2 weeks which should make it more the place to be while online in our Pokemon World. (Thanks to Fenikkusu)
Fenikkusu has also come up with a way to automate the memberships, this will be put in place over the next few days.

Needless to say the team here are flat out working to provide a stream line professional gaming experience for you all. So come online and have some battles some time, we look foward to seeing you.

Keep checking here for updates on an exclusive Beta round for one of our newest games.

Hey Guys,

Thought I’d do the General Public a small favour and Rip the Quest Commercial’s music as S&S were taking their time. Sorry guys, Really hope they dont mind. Its off the Youtube so Quality isn’t the best.

This is an amazing piece and I’d love to learn it (You can count on me linking to the score if/when S&S release it. You can catch the YouTube for this add here

You can download the Piece here: moccona-cinderella-aka-quest-commercial1.mp3

(Caution: This playes funny in Windows media player) - I suggest VLC media Player.

Peace Out!

Alright, fatal exception is a little bit of an exaggeration. But I have realized that there is a fatal flaw with this project.

VB.net IS TOO SLOW!
I’ve attempted to Port to a few other languages with no luck on speed increases (C# was equally slow) There is no way around it… I need to do it in C++.
And I’m not looking forward to it. So if there are any friendly C++ experts in Sydney Australia who are keen to give lessons please contact me. I presently can do a few things with C++ but I class myself as a Noob still.

With the entire engine rebuild aside I think its working great. Consolidations are brilliant and I have Pre Cachine Threads working away so when you first refresh its lightning fast, but its just not the same as actually being a fast system. The best feature is the fact that you can drill back on any cell thats populated by the ETL. Without any additional action. The ETL remembers exactly where the data comes from and how the measures are built, meaning any transformations can be reversed into an SQL where statement.I’ll give another update when possible.

Hey Guys,

After a lot of work last night I think I’ve ironed out a majority of the Migration bugs and I think its now ready to go live. But before I do that I need as many people as possible to go onto the .net server. Over the next weeks we will stress test this server to be sure its good enough we go live with.
